This is a weird one for me. With the Beatles comes in at 9th of 13th in my rankings, yet it has three songs in the top 40, which is one more than the 4th ranked Please Please Me had. Also like it's predecessor it also has only one song in the bottom 40. The big difference is that PPM had 11 songs in the top 100, and WTB has only five. (Much more quantity than quality obviously.)
We're still in the era of many, many covers for the Fab Four, and two of them (Money and Postman) top this list. Going into this, I wouldn't have given them the top two spots. I would have assumed the original song It Won't Be Long would have taken the top spot, however that was not to be because the aforementioned songs really jumped out at me on re-listen.
Beatlemania was running wild during the course of this album, but none of these song are really what you associate for this time period. Songs like She Loves and I Want to Hold Your Hand were the big- money songs of this era, and they were released as singles instead of on the album; which again was commonplace of the time. Had those two been put on this album as well, we're talking a MUCH better album overall.
