The Tide Has Changed
Daniel Bryan was made to look the fool at Wrestlemania. Instead, the true fans voiced their opinion on the matter. Loud "YES" chants echoed through the American Airlines Arena all night long. Didn't matter a bit what was going on. The Rock got chanted at. (I did get the feeling though, he didn't even realize they weren't for him) Cena did obviously, Miami was totally anti-Cena. Even everyone's blue-collar hero CM Punk got some as well. "D-Bry" is officially the most over guy in the company now, and I freaking love it!
Some other good tidbits:
The Jericho and Punk exchange. Usually the sneak attacks seem silly and forced. Jericho's attack on Punk felt very awkward (in a good way) and uncomfortable. Like, "Jericho you sick bastard, how could you do that?" Very cool, I haven't felt like that for a while.
The Rock declared he was going to go after the WWE title, which if Punk is still champion, should lead to some very interesting verbal exchanges.
Alberto and Ricardo (I love that guy) returned to a 90% babyface reaction to interrupt Sheamus. And a minor note here, Sheamus is a heel now for ruining Bryan's title reign. Didn't matter who it was, just the fact it happened, makes that person by default public enemy number one.
Brock Lesnar returned. We have been hearing the rumblings for a while. I personally didn't think it was going to happen. The crowd was chanting vehemently for him while Cena's promo was occurring, to the point Cena had to acknowledge it, along with the Daniel Bryan's chants.
This got me thinking about a Cena-Brock feud obviously, and I thought to myself that that hadn't ever happened before. After pulling my head out of my ass, I remembered these promos that put Cena on the map 1, 2, 3. (I'm pretty sure I was thinking of Batista, who I know, never touched Brock during their brief time together on the roster)
What's all this mean? Could it just be a flash in the pan, Wrestlemania-esque Raw? Maybe, but I do feel it's starting something. This could be like '97; the calm before the storm. The Attitude storm. This isn't the Attitude Era and that's good, we need new and fresh. (Something special is brewing, and it all started with a promo.) So now, with Wrestlemania in the books, there's something in air, the roster is stacked, and the crowd is jacked.
