It's hard to believe, but an album with only two top 20 songs is the third ranked album. It outranked the last two, each had three in the top 10, but both had two bottom 20 songs whereas Rabbit only has one. In fact, 10 of the 12 songs come in under 60! The big two don't even come close to that.
It's the "middle of the pack" consistency that keeps this album chugging along. That's not to say it's mediocre either. I would consider She Does a great song. (Obviously it's number 9) Everything else (minus My Days) I would rank from "good" to "very good." Lighten Up is borderline, but I still don't mind listening to it, even though it can get annoying to me. Rabbit doesn't have the peak songs like Dosage or self-titled does, but it's a wonderful collection of songs that represents the heart of what CS does.
And yes technically I know this album is also called, "Collective Soul." Why the hell would they name two albums the same thing? On the Internet, and I think even the band, calls this album "Rabbit." Why didn't they just name it that? You got me. But it's good tunes, which is the only reason I don't make a big stink about it.
