Yeah Mon: Jamaica 2015

This one and the one below are two different views of the suite were we stayed.

The wife and I just took a trip for our "5th" anniversary, I say "5th" because we were a bit late (actually closer to 6th) due to our little bundle of joy that was ready to pop out on our actual 5th anniversary.  We traveled to Montego Bay, Jamaica and stayed at the Sandal's resort there.  

I love the movie Cool Runnings (hold that thought), and I remembered that they were always saying, "no problem mon," or "yeah mon" throughout the duration of the film.  I wasn't sure if that was as common of slang as it appeared, or if it maybe it was a stereotype.  

Well I can confidently tell you, that every man, woman, and child says it.  AND I LOVED IT!  I also found out they don't pronounce the letter "h."  (Sorry if I sound like an ignorant farm boy.)  So that made some of the words harder to understand.  Our favorite H-less word was "ut" which is what they called our "hut" on the beach (pictures below).   

Swimming with dolphins is a phenomenal experience, and anyone who has the opportunity to do so, absolutely should.  They may be the coolest animal ever.  We also had the chance to hold an 8 foot shark; which I'm also a shark lover, but that was intimidating.  It also was really cool.  This particular shark's skin (he was a bottom-feeder) felt like sand, which was unexpected.  We also got to pet a sting ray, which we didn't get any pictures of.
