Goodbye and Good Riddance (First Round Playoff Exits)

The Dallas Mavericks got swept in the first round of the playoffs, and I couldn't be happier.  My personal disdain for the team aside, they deserved all four crushing blows.  Letting Tyson Chandler and JJ Barea walk last season was a moronic move even by Cuban standards. JJ Barea (now looking to score big in other places) single-handedly beat the Lakers in round two.   Would the Mavs have won the title without Chandler last year?

Speaking of Chandler, his team of misfits also got booted in the ass.  On paper, signing with the Knicks seemed like a good idea.  He can be the defensive presence and rebounder that Amare can't/won't be.  And Melo can be the go-two guy.  Well unfortunately "on paper" doesn't always translate into real life, and the Knicks are one of the worst chemistry teams in the league.  Aside from the brief (yet wonderful) dose of Linsanity, the Knicks had a ridiculously bad and underachieving season.  It's no coincidence that the Knicks played best when their two "best" players were injured.  I would seriously consider blowing up this team (minus Lin).  Either that, or have Stern reverse the trade for Melo last season.  How would a Lin, Fields, Gallinari, Amare, Chandler starting lineup suit ya?  Oh wait, that's only reserved for the Hornets.
