My 20 Questions for the NBA
Now that I can start talking NBA again, here are some questions that I hope are answered by the end of the season.
-After coming off a career year, can Kris Humphries keep the momentum going? OK I'm joking. Hump got more pub this past year than most will get in a lifetime, and none of it was basketball related. Is he itching to get back on the court to show he was just more than Kim K's bitch? Or will the heckling get to him, and he be in Europe in 2 years? Or does he not give a shit anymore due to him being a D-List celebrity now? Either way, enjoy the picture.
-Can Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden stay healthy for a full season? Both teams sorely need their bigs.
-Speaking of the Blazers, are they going to stop screwing around and make the proper moves to become a legit force in the West (Notice I didn't say contender)? Whatever this entails they need to do it because everyone is afraid to play in Portland, now they just need to capitalize on it.
-Will Mark Jackson get the Warriors to play D? If not, I would assume he would be a good mentor for the talented back court of Curry/Ellis, and they should mature under his guidance.
-How will Kyrie Irving fair? No pressure or anything, you were just the number one pick on a extremely crappy team.
- I'm sure Blake will get the Clippers on national TV more this year, but does he have what it takes to make them relevant; for the first time ever!?!
-Will Deron Williams commit to NJ? Wherever he goes he will make a big difference.
-Same for Dwight Howard?
-Chris Paul is the most coveted one here though. (Full health or not.) He seems the most likely to be moved/leave. Will he be traded so the Hornets get something? Or if he signs/traded to the Knicks, how greatly will that shift the balance of power in the East?
-What are the Grizzlies going to do with Rudy Gay?
-Does Dallas defend their title? Or do the old guys feel a sense of accomplishment and not care anymore? (See: Metta World Peace aka Ron Artest.)
-How long before Kevin Love begs to get out of Minnesota?
-Are the Lakers going to adjust to the new coach? Get a bench? Trade Artest?
-Will Nash truly stay loyal to Phoenix?
-Are the Bulls still one move away from being title contenders? How about two MVP's for DRose?
-Is the Westbrook/Durant squabble going to continue?
-How entertaining will Barkley and Shaq be on Inside the NBA? How many cheap shots per night?
-How are the old man Celtics holding up?
-Same question for the Spurs, who are probably in even more dire straights. Am I right San Antonio fans?
-And most importantly of all. Will LeBron turn it around in the playoffs. No one question more, answered correctly, would drastically affect the entire NBA the same way. When LBJ is on, he is unstoppable. If he keeps being the best player during the regular season only, then he may end up in the Dominique Wilkins-esque
all-time list category.
