I Went and Saw Bush... (Insert Dirty Joke Here)
The set list was top notch, hitting all the biggies (Glycerine, Comedown, Machinehead, Everything Zen, Little Things) and even some of the more obscure ones like Alien and Land of the Living. They did a great cover of Come Together by the Beatles, and ending the night with Comedown (my personal favorite) was pure perfection in my eyes.
Gavin has tremendous charisma and was entertaining throughout the show. He knows what the people likes and he gives it to them. He sung a whole song in the crowd, was hugging some girls in the front row (of course they loved it) and was a crowd pleaser through and through.
He high-fived me, so I was pretty pumped up about that. And numerous times he was right in front of me singing, as the pictures will show. Sure some are blurry but you get the point.
The guitarist and bass player are new, but you couldn't tell the difference by the sound. Sounded exactly like they always have, and exactly like the albums. That's what I love about rock shows, it's not overly-produced and and sounds like crap live. They are what they are, and can play it live. Sure some songs had extended guitar solos, but you won't hear me complaining about that anytime soon.
In a nutshell it was the best concert I have ever been to. If the tickets would have cost $100 it still would have been worth it. (They were $30) If I never see them live again I am very greatful that I did, and had such a good time. However, if they're anywhere near me again you can bet your sweet ass I'll be there.
