Semi-final Predictions

Sort of a goofy first round, but that's how it goes sometimes.  So here we go:


Western Conference:


Lakers vs. Mavericks- It will be interesting to see if the bad blood from the regular season carries over.  Playoffs are at their best when there is hard fouls, maybe some minor scuffles, and that has the potential to happen here.  If Bynum stays in top shape this shouldn't even be close.  Dirk will go down swinging more than likely though.  Lakers in 6.

Grizzlies vs. Thunder- Holy Grizzlies.  That's pretty crazy of an upset, but the Spurs are really old and worn out; just imagine what would have happened if Rudy Gay was playing?  The Grizzlies will be a team to watch next year.  This should be a really good series, and an ultimate match up of big men.  Ibaka and Perkins vs. Gasol and Randolph.  In the end though, there is no one on the Grizzlies as good as Durant, and probably not as good as Westbrook.  Thunder in 6.

Eastern Conference:

Bulls vs. Hawks- I can't see the Hawks taking it to the Bulls.  They are such an up and down team, and they seemingly can quit at any time.  (Last two playoffs anyone?)  Bulls in 5.

Celtics vs. Heat- Lot of drama here.  I'm praying they let Rondo guard LeBron again.  That was sweet during the regular season when they were matched up.  LeBron will have a huge game or two, and maybe DWade as well, but the Heat aren't a "team," while the Celtics are the epitome of team.  Should very well be the most interesting match up in the semi-final round.  Celtics in 6.

As for my first round predictions:

I had the Spurs in 6.  Wrong!
Lakers in 5.  Wrong!
Blazers in 7.  Wrong!
Thunder in 6.  Wrong!

I did get half of the winning teams right, (Lakers, Thunder) off by one game in each series.  Either way not good.

For the east I had Magic in 5.  Wrong!
Celtics in 7.  Wrong!
Heat in 5.  Right!!!!!
Bulls in 6.  Wrong!

At least I had the Heat one right!  But I also had my worst miss as far as games go, Celtics in 7.  However I only missed one team, the Magic.
