Foo Fighters Doc...
VH1 had the FF's documentary "Foo Fighters: Back and Forth" on Friday night, and what a wonderful little piece of work it was. (Trailer) It was great first of all because it was commercial free. If they show replays, I'm sure it won't be, but that was a real treat. Also, it was nearly 2 hours long! That's what I'm talking about.
As big of FF fan as I am, I will admit that I didn't know too much about their personal history (music aside). Did you know that drummer Taylor Hawkins almost died of a drug overdose and was in a coma because of it? Yeah, me neither. The documentary did a great history of the group, and their multiple lineup changes. Then the last portion was dedicated to the recording of their new album "Wasting Light."
Any Nirvana fans out there may be curious to know that former bassist Krist Novoselic is featured in the song "I Should Have Known." There was also cool footage of Dave and the gang hanging at his house, (where it was recorded) and you just get the vibes that the Foo are just a bunch of good dudes.
I know I'm excited to get the new album (out on April 12th) because let's face it, the Foo Fighters are one of the best rock bands out there today.
Peace out
